History and milestones

Established in 2016, Treasure ASA now forms part of a global cluster of companies controlled by the Wilhelmsen group. Below are key milestones from the Wilhelmsen group leading up to Treasure ASA’s establishment in 2016.

1861 Wilh. Wilhelmsen established by founder, Morten Wilhelm Wilhelmsen in Norway.
1865 Wilhelmsen aquires its first vessel.
1911 Wilhelmsen entered into liner trade, which soon became its most important activity.
1983 The first pure car carrier joined the fleet.
1995 Wilhelmsen acquired the outstanding ownership interests in Den Norske Amerikalinje AS (NAL).
2004 Wilh. Wilhelmsen ASA acquired 25% of Hyundai Glovis and later moved the shares to its wholly-owned subsidiary NAL.
2005 The IPO of Hyundai Glovis lead to a reduction in Wilhelmsen’s shareholding in Hyundai Glovis to 20% of the total issued shares.
2008 Wilhelmsen reduced its shareholding in Hyundai Glovis to 15% of the total issued shares by way of sale of 5% of its shareholding.
2012 Wilhelmsen reduced its shareholding in Hyundai Glovis to 12.5% of the total issued shares by way of sale of 2.5% of its shareholding.
2012 Wilhelmsen reduced its shareholding from 12.5% to 12.04% of the total issued shares in Hyundai Glovis by way of sale of 0.5% of its shareholding.
2016 Completion of the demerger of Wilh. Wilhelmsen, under which NAL and the shares in NAL were transferred to Treasure ASA.
